Travelling Recording Studio On-site Recording It's a way of life!
|
Disclaimer:
Hello and thanks for visiting. Alas, I am but another statistic, that of a small business failure. Ah well, it happens, and at least I gave it a good shot! Rather than leave the business entirely, I have thrown my lot in with Steve Blake at Toad Hall Studio. He has most of my old gear and has incorporated (dare I say "assimilated") it into his operation. He will most likely be offering on-site recording, and perhaps live recording as well. It may also happen that I assist him on-site. Time will tell... I'm not doing any more live mixing except for a steady client or two. You can get in touch with Leo and Gail at Gorilla Sound or Nils at Traveling Monkey Sound for that. Nils also does live recording and on-site recording. I'm keeping this site up for historical interest only. I might fool around with it while coming up with marketing ideas for Steve. In the meantime, check out my MySpace page There are stories, funny pics, etc.

[Actually, I've even deleted my
MySpace pages, and updated this old
site. I've left recording entirely,
and will hopefully even leave live
sound by the end of the year. I do
recommend that you call Steve or
Nils if you are looking to record.

This site is Under Construction. (It's best viewed with Mozilla Firefox or Netscape.) But please feel free to look around in the meantime! Be safe; don't forget your helmet and safety goggles, and please stay behind the yellow tape. Our rates page is up, and we're starting to get detailed descriptons about our services. In brief: We do recording on-site, in your practice space. We do the driving (gas prices anyone?) and lifting, so you don't have to! We bring good mics and pres, 24-tracks digital, and even 1" and 1/2" analog, once tape comes back. With our friends at Toad Hall Studio/Instant Dogma Productions, we provide Producer services as well as mixing in a studio environment. With our friends at Gorilla Sound, we provide P.A. systems for club-sized venues. We've worked with other studios, providing format conversions of legacy tapes. We've also tried out each other's equipment. We'd also love to do more audio-for-picture. "Lights, Camera...Action!" When we say "It's a way of life," we really mean it! Doing audio is just plain fun. Add to that visiting places we've never been before, hearing some great music, meeting new people..."What a long, strange trip it's been!" Thanks for stopping by! {As for what "Apothecary" means, look it up!! :-) It was once the name of Greg's favorite band, before they changed it to GFY, now defunct for several years. Call it a dedication. No, "Travelling" is not misspelled. The Brits spell it with two Ls, and it looks cool. Yes, we were once N.O.M.A.D. Travelling Recording Studio, but it was changed since there were about six other "Nomad Recordings" in the world. We want to stand out from the crowd!} |
